Description
(CN: Yunnan: Diqing, Weixi, Tachengzhen)
An evergreen tree in the Theaceae, and one that should hopefully prove hardy to z8 – they generally grow at higher altitudes than Camellia yunnanensis. Schima are stunning trees when you come across it in the wild in full flower, full of white flowers on every branch, contrasting the dark green foliage.
I’m not entirely sure which of the three possible species this will turn out to be, but the picture is from our collector.
