Description
(Ex F. Karlsen, native to Nepal, Bhutan, and NE India, as well as the far S and SE parts of Tibet.)
The typical Lilium nepalense native to Nepal, typical in this case meaning both what’s commonly cultivated under that name – and what matches the actual type specimen described from Nepal all the way back in 1821. Easy and hardy species, and not too slow from seeds, far more common in cultivation a few decades ago than it is today. Note that this species, like L. lankongense, runs horizontally under the soil before growing vertically, so don’t expect it to shoot straight up from where you planted it.
