Lilium cupreum, “dark form”

12.50

(Formerly known as “Lilium sp. Toon”, native to NE Yunnan and NW Guizhou in China, and sadly seriously threatened in the wild)

One of Chen Yi’s introductions that remained a mystery for years, but now has been identified as Lilium cupreum, first collected by Maire, and described by Léveillé back in 1915. Long lost in synonymy, it was considered to be L. fargesii from dry herbarium specimens, a species with far different requirements in cultivation.

Seeds from an expert grower and friend in Scandinavia, always scarce, and considering how rare this species is in both the wild and in cultivation please note that it is not easy to grow!
