Description
(W/O, cult. ex Hubei: Enshi and Hubei: Yichang)
One of my favourite Corydalis species, flowering with dark pink or purple flowers in very early spring, that quickly fade to pale lilac or blue, on 30cm tall stems. One of the earliest in flower in the garden here, grows foliage in autumn that stays green through winter until bursting into flower very early. Happily survived an April snow storm here, and shows no damage to the foliage at -14. Dies down to fat roots in late spring, and seeds around a bit.
Sow immediately upon receipt and leave the pot outside, the seeds need stratification and can sometimes take 2 years to germinate.
15+ seeds per package, moist packed and kept refrigerated since harvest. Collected 2025.
