Hubei: Huanggang, Tiantaishan, 800-900m
We're extremely pleased to finally be able to offer this species in seed - and an amazing form at that! According to our collector at least 40% of the plants in this mountain valley are deep raspberry red, rather different from the checkered pale purple form you usually see.
Fritillaria in general are unfortunately becoming threatened here in China, as they (the bulbs) are used in basically every cough syrup made - and they are mostly dug up from the wild. This particular species still seems somewhat common in the wild, yet for some reason strangely uncommon in cultivation.
15+ seeds per package, harvested in early June 2019. Kept frozen since harvest.
Note: These seeds will be restocked if sold out.
