Hunan: Xiangxi, Dazhushan
Urophysa is a rather strange genus with just 2 species, and before ending up in Urophysa they were variously classified as Semiaquilegia, Isopyrum, Aquilegia and Anemone. Their habitat is rock faces and cliffs in moister river valleys, similar to Paraquilegia, but at much lower altitudes.
U. henryi is rather widespread in C China, while the other species, U. rockii, is restricted to one river valley in N Sichuan where it's both extremely rare and threatened by damming for hydroelectric power.
